Three dead as Champions League fans targeted in Nigeria blast | May 25, 2014

Boko Haram kidnapped more than 250 girls from a secondary school in Chibok in remote northeastern Nigeria on April 14.
JOS: At least three people were killed in the central Nigerian city of Jos in an explosion targeting football fans watching the European Champions League final, the authorities said.

Yesterday's blast came just days after a twin car bomb attack ripped through a crowded market in the city, killing 118 and raising fears of a spread of Boko Haram Islamist violence from the restive northeast.

"So far, we have three dead, three injured," Chris Olakpe, the commissioner of police for Plateau state, of which Jos is the capital, told AFP.

"The target was the (football) viewing centre." Olakpe said it was too early to say who may have been responsible for the blast, which came with people on edge and nerves frayed about a fresh strike.

The police chief also declined to comment on reports that the explosion was a suicide bombing but revealed that the bomber's improvised explosive device went off prematurely.

"He died in the wake of the heinous crime. He was consumed by his IED. It exploded before the viewing centre because of pressure from local youths and the alertness of the local people," he added.

Pam Ayuba, spokesman for the Plateau state governor Jonah Jang, said the blast happened at about 9.30pm (0200 IST, Sunday) on Bauchi Road, a predominantly Muslim area of the city.

Football is Nigeria's national sport and top European teams, particularly from the English Premier League but also Spain's top flight, have a fanatical following.

Spanish giants Real Madrid took the Champions League title yesterday.

So-called football "viewing centres" — often open air, big screen venues — have been targeted before, elsewhere in Nigeria.

Last month, suspected Boko Haram gunmen stormed a packed venue in Potiskum, northeast Yobe state, and shot dead two people showing the two Champions League quarter-final matches.

Police at the time did not directly blame Boko Haram for the attack but the group has been known for preaching against football as part of its agenda to impose strict Islamic law in northern Nigeria.

In several video clips, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has described football and music as a Western ploy to distract Muslims from their religion.

Tuesday's bombings in Jos — Nigeria's deadliest — came despite the government's internationally backed security crackdown after the militant group kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls last month. : A massive explosion on Saturday night hit Nigeria's central Jos City, where more than 118 people were killed in a similar incident on Tuesday, police said without giving any casualty figures.

State police spokesperson Felicia Anselm said the incident was suspected to be a suicide bomb attack, noting the explosion occurred near the University of Jos, along the express way leading to northeast Bauchi State. "But details are still sketchy for now," Xinhua quoted her as saying.

Other sources said A lifeless body of the suicide bomber was found some 20 metres away from a football viewing centre, where soccer fans converged to watch the final of 2014 UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Relationship Matters, Love Matters Most, Love Is Sacrifice

Love matters most in your marriage, in your families, with your friends, and those you do not know. When we decide to become need meeters, that’s when we are pursuing a life of fulfillment. Why do we seek out information on relationship matters? Probably because there are issues with focusing on what matters most. Your own personal happiness is not what matters most, because love matters most, and love is outwardly focused, not inwardly consumed.
What matters most in relationships can be summed up in one word, otherness. It is through an otherness focus that we love. Through love we show and tell others that they matter to us. Love recognizes others and their needs, their needs to be noticed, to be accepted, appreciated, to be loved, and to know that they matter. The most important asset you have is your time, and if you are loving others with your time, then you are doing what matters the most. Love is sacrifice, you sacrifice your time, what you want or desire, to love others.
I am often blessed by the gift of watching my wife go over to another woman, who is sitting by herself, and see how she reaches out with love towards them. You see, by simply going to introduce herself to someone like that, and spending some time talking with them, she is showing them that they matter, that they are recognized, and that they are significant. That is Godly love, the kind of love that touches other people through relationship right where they are. Doing something like that requires her to have an otherness focus, she is looking to meet other peoples needs, for any opportunity where she can touch people with love.
There are so many people who feel alone, or who may feel like they don’t matter. This is true with acquaintances, with friends, family, and with spouses. It is also true that none of us can get all the love we need from one person, though our spouses may supply a majority of our love, we still need outside sources to fill in the gaps. We would also find that, if we had an otherness focus, that we could fill in some gaps for some people who may be lacking loving relationships in their lives.
If you love those who love you, do you deserve a reward? Even the tax collectors do that! Are you doing anything remarkable if you welcome only your friends? Everyone does that! (Matthew 5:46-47).
You might be wondering how does loving others outside of your marriage relationship matter? Well to be truly walking in love, you are loving those you can reach. Besides that, the actions of love are habit forming, much like riding a bicycle, the more you do it, the better you become at it, and the more it becomes natural behavior for you. Practice matters, just like anything else, practice makes perfect. Please do not understand or attempt to misrepresent what was just written, this does not say to go have sex outside of your marriage, that is not love.
We are all here to learn to love within the context of relationships. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31). It’s all about love and relationship, starting with God first, then learning to love others, as we all have a human tendency to be stuck on loving ourselves. In 1 Corinthians 13:5, the bible says that love is not self-seeking, or depending on the bible version it may say; it does not seek its own, or It does not demand its own way. Love is not selfish, love is not self-centered, love intently looks to meet the needs of others, love is sacrifice.

You matter, you are intended on being a gift, a gift to others, and other people matter, they are intended to be a gift to you and others. Life is all about love and relationships, and yet we struggle so much with that intention. Secular teaching tells us to acquire for ourselves, to take care of number one, and we tend to buy that hook, line, and stinker! In order to grow you must do some inward focusing on yourself, but that is to clear out the unhealthy aspects within, it’s not to shower yourself with luxuries and wealth, or to go around saying "excuse me, I come first." Love is a sacrifice, you sacrifice your wants, desires, or needs for the benefits of others, you put yourself last. "So the last shall be first, and the first last." (Matthew 20:16). If you put yourself last, you will be exalted upward, if you put yourself first, you will be humbled.
John 15:13 sums this up with regards to the sacrifice of love within the context of relationships; No one shows greater love than when he lays down his life for his friends. In order to walk in love we all may need to make daily adjustments, behavior adjustments, and attitude adjustments. Remember those 3 special words you so commonly tell your relatives, your friends, and your spouse all the time? You say, I love you as you hang up the phone, you say I love you to your wife or husband as you walk out the door, and yet so often those words are not backed up by your sacrifices. I love you is an outward expression, do your actions show it today?

From a heart that cares. Hope it informed you greatly?

Science of Attraction and Love

Have you ever wondered what is the reason that we get attracted to the opposite sex? What is behind a relationship between a man and woman? Or what is the reason we find some body totally irresistible and often fantasize about that person in a sexually inclined manner? Why is that we are swept off our feet at the sight or thought of someone and long to be with him/her whenever we are free?
To understand the answer to all these questions we need to understand the Science of love. Following are the two main theories that govern the science of love , attraction or attachment.

Evolutionary Need

It can be considered to be the central factor that attracts the potential mate to a creature in the nature. The same is true for human beings as well. As the evolution theory goes, if a creature mates with a weaker mate, the off-springs are also weak and may not be able to survive against this harsh nature.
This might at some point of time lead to the total extinction of the species from earth. In order to avoid this, it is natural that we try to attract and also get attracted to a stronger, healthier and attractive mate so that there is no problem in the continuity of our heritage.
Though this theory might not play in our mind in our real lives but it is actually what the science of evolution tells us and it does explain to a good extent the laws of attraction and love.

The Role of Hormones

Apart from the evolution theory, this is the basic scientific reason which explains the questions we are trying to answer in this article.
Hormones are a form of chemical compounds in our body which is released at various stages of life and times as per need. The role that they play in influencing our minds and bodies to get attracted to somebody is also pivotal. A famous study defines the first stage of love to be lust, the second as Attraction and third as Attachment. These various stages are influenced by different hormones in our body which is discussed below.
Stage I - Lust
This is the first stage of love, in which we try to get a desirable being of opposite sex and satiate our carnal desires. This stage is mostly related with the sexual fantasies that a human being carries in his/her mind. The sex hormone that influence or cause this stage is testosterone and estrogen in both males and females.
Stage II - Attraction
This is the most beautiful stage when one is said to have "fallen in love". The person in totally in thoughts of his/her lover and can think of nothing else that person. The hormones that play their role for such a emotional state are the following
  • Dopamine : Dopamine is a hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter. When this hormone is triggered, the individual experience the similar pleasurable feeling like that experienced when taking drugs! This brings in a wave of pleasant feelings, additional energy and focus. The need for sleep and taking rest is felt to go down.
  • Adrenaline : The process of falling for some body is characterized by a rush of adrenaline in your blood. This affects your response to stress, increased heart beat and dryness of mouth- indicators of initiation of love.
Stage III - Attachment
This is considered to the last stage of love and very much needed for a successful relationship. Scientists believe that there are two hormones which have a role to invoke this feeling - Oxytocin and Vassopressin.

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE: Bird Turns Into A Woman In Lagos

LAGOS bird turn woman THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE: Bird Turns Into A Woman In Lagos|VIDEO
Residents of the highly populated Ajegunle area of Lagos were on Wednesday thrown into shock, after a bird was said to have transformed into an old woman who confessed to being a witch in broad day light. The dark-complexioned nonagenarian with tribal marks, who spoke in Yoruba, told a bewildered crowd that she was on her way back to Ibadan, Oyo State (as a bird) when she missed her track. She also told the mammoth crowd that gathered around that her mystical powers disappointed her because it was dawn.
It all started when three black birds were seen at about 7am, flying side‑by‑side along Old Ojo Road. Then, all of a sudden, one of them landed on a moving pick‑up van owned by Eko Electricity Distribution Company. A man who identified himself as Mr Okafor said: “Immediately the bird landed on the van, it transformed into an old woman. Everyone ran away at first but we later gathered round the woman only to discover that she had a bruise on her forehead with which she landed. “When we asked her what her mission was, she said three of them were sent to Lagos from their coven in Ibadan but that on their way back, they missed their way. She said they started hovering in the area until it was morning, adding that she fell because she was tired. “She also told us that she initially did not want to embark on the journey and that she used to restrict her witchcraft activities to Ibadan because of her age. She was thereafter taken to the Baale of Ajeromi, where she confessed to have killed her husband through witchcraft.”
