Virtues List, Positive Character Traits & Healthy Love Attributes



A virtue is a character trait valued as being good. 
When the components of a relationship are right, then love will fill the voids. Love is not just looking at one another, but looking together in the same direction. Love needs to be intertwined with positive character attributes, in a complex mental state involving beliefs, feelings, values, and dispositions to act in reverence.
 
The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The above list of virtues is from Galatians 5:22-23, it would be wise to memorize the above list of attributes for future memory access, it's good software for your brain. Furthermore, it would be good to list one more bit of wisdom with regards to character from Romans 5:3-5 which says; Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us…
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 
 Joy is a source of happiness, the emotion of great happiness or to make glad or happy.
Peace is harmonious relations; freedom from disputes, the absence of mental stress or anxiety.
Patience is good-natured tolerance of delay, the capacity, habit, or fact of being patient.
Kindness is the quality of being warm-hearted and considerate and humane and sympathetic.
Goodness is moral excellence or admirableness, that which is good or valuable or useful.
Faithfulness is the quality of being faithful to someone or something, loyal, true, constant, fast, steadfast, and staunch.
Gentleness is the quality or state of being gentle; especially : mildness of manners or disposition.
Self-Control is the trait of resolutely controlling your own behavior, the act of denying yourself; controlling your impulses.
The following list of character virtues are not necessarily in any kind of order, nor is the list of character attributes, (virtues), considered complete.
Hopefulness is having qualities which inspire hope, full of hope, inclined to hope. One definition of hope is to have a happy anticipation of something good.
Forgiveness is the act of excusing a mistake or offense, compassionate feelings that support a willingness to forgive.
Selflessness is acting with less concern for yourself than for the success of the joint activity. The quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others.
Fairness sees a situation from the viewpoint of each person involved and not just ours. It seeks the best, just, equable solution, even if it hurts us. So in everything, do to others as you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
Grace is a disposition to kindness and compassion; benign good will. The free and unmerited favor or beneficence of God.
Mercy is alleviation of distress; showing great kindness toward the distressed. A disposition to be kind and forgiving, the feeling that motivates compassion.
Compassion is a deep awareness of and sympathy for another's suffering, the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something about it.
Empathy is identification with and understanding of another's situation, feelings, and motives.
Wisdom is the quality of being prudent and sensible, the trait of utilizing knowledge and experience with common sense and insight.
Understanding is The capacity for rational thought or inference. Characterized by understanding based on comprehension and discernment and empathy.
Discernment is perception of that which is obscure, the trait of judging wisely and objectively, the cognitive condition of someone who understands.
Encouragement is the act of giving hope or support to someone, support of a kind that inspires confidence and a will to continue or develop.
Faith is belief and trust in and loyalty to God. To be loyal or true to a person or promise, complete trust, firm belief.
Caring is feeling and exhibiting concern and empathy for others, a loving feeling, having or displaying warmth or affection.
Generosity is the trait of being willing to give your money or time, acting generously.
Humility is a humble view of one’s own importance. A disposition to be humble; a lack of false pride.
Honesty is the quality of being honest, fairness and straightforwardness of conduct, adherence to the facts.
Sincerity is the quality of being open and truthful; not deceitful or hypocritical.
Integrity is firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values, incorruptibility, an unimpaired condition, soundness, the quality or state of being complete or undivided.
Respect is an attitude of admiration or esteem, show respect towards, a courteous expression (by word or deed) of esteem or regard.
Consideration is the process of giving careful thought to something, kind and considerate regard for others, a considerate and thoughtful act.
Impartiality is the quality of being impartial; freedom from bias or favoritism; disinterestedness; equitableness; fairness; as, impartiality of judgment, of treatment.
Gratitude is a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation, the state of being grateful.
Contentment is a feeling of calm satisfaction, the quality or state of being contented, a circumstance, or a feature or characteristic of something, that gives rise to satisfaction.
Acceptance is the act of taking something that is offered, a disposition to tolerate or accept people or situations, the state of being acceptable and accepted.
Helpfulness is the property of providing useful assistance, friendliness evidence by a kindly and helpful disposition.
Friendliness is showing kindly interest and goodwill to another, a friendly disposition, a feeling of liking for another person; enjoyment in their company.
Modesty is freedom from vanity or conceit, formality and propriety of manner.
Honor is show respect towards, the quality of being honorable and having a good name.
Purity is the state of being free from sin or moral wrong; lacking a knowledge of evil. Being undiluted or unmixed with extraneous material, a woman's virtue or chastity.
Righteousness is adhering to moral principles, morally right or justifiable, acting in accord with divine or moral law.
Sacrifice is destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else or someone else.
Loyalty is the act of binding yourself, intellectually or emotionally, to a course of action.
Hospitality is kindness in welcoming guests or strangers, hospitable treatment, reception, or disposition.
Courtesy is a courteous or respectful or considerate act, courteous behavior.
Cooperation is joint operation or action, common effort, association of persons for common benefit, the practice of cooperating.
Service is an act of help or assistance, work done by one person or group that benefits others.
Guidance is the act of guiding or showing the way, something that provides direction or advice as to a decision or course of action.
Perseverance is persistent determination, the act of persisting or persevering; continuing or repeating behavior.
Endurance is The act, quality, or power of withstanding hardship or stress.
Courage is a quality of spirit that enables you to face danger of pain without showing fear. Persistence plus fear equals courage.
Diligence is persevering determination to perform a task, conscientiousness in paying proper attention to a task; giving the degree of care required in a given situation.
Meekness is a disposition to be patient and long suffering, the feeling of patient submissive humbleness.
Purposefulness is the quality of having a definite purpose, full of meaning; significant.
Foresight is the perception of the significance and nature of events before they have occurred. Care in providing for the future; prudence. The act of looking forward.
Intuition is immediate apprehension or cognition without reasoning or inferring, knowledge or conviction gained by intuition, the power or faculty of gaining direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.
Optimism is a general disposition to expect the best in all things, the optimistic feeling that all is going to turn out well.
Potential is the inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or coming into being.
Orderliness is a condition of regular or proper arrangement, the quality of appreciating method and system.
Unity is the quality of being united into one, an unreduced or unbroken completeness or totality.
Reverence is a reverent mental attitude, honor or respect felt or shown, profound adoring awed respect, regard with feelings of respect and reverence; consider exalted or to be in awe of.
Steadfastness is loyalty in the face of trouble and difficulty, steadfast resolution, firm in belief, determination, or adherence.
Obedience the act of obeying; dutiful or submissive behavior with respect to another.
Devotion is commitment to some purpose, feelings of ardent love, willingness to serve God.
Reliability is the trait of being dependable or reliable, something or someone that is reliable can be trusted or believed because they work or behave well in the way you expect.
Assertiveness is aggressive self-assurance; given to making bold assertions, disposed to or characterized by confident assertion.
Tolerance is the ability to put up with harsh or difficult conditions, the act of putting up with somebody or something irritating or otherwise unpleasant.
Responsibility
is a form of trustworthiness; the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct.
Trustworthiness
is the trait of deserving trust and confidence, dependable, deserving of trust, or able to be trusted.
Moderation is quality of being moderate and avoiding extremes, the trait of avoiding excesses, the action of lessening in severity or intensity.
Flexibility is the quality of being adaptable or variable, characterized by a ready capability to adapt to new, different, or changing requirements.
Tactful is having or showing a sense of what is fitting and considerate in dealing with others. Showing skill and sensitivity in dealing with people.
Enthusiasm is a feeling of excitement, passionate interest in or eagerness to do something.
Creativity is the ability to use the imagination to develop new and original ideas or things, especially in an artistic context.

Commitment
is the act of binding yourself, intellectually or emotionally, to a course of action, the trait of sincere and steadfast fixity of purpose.
Happiness is never stopping to think if you are. The state of being happy; contentment; joyful satisfaction; felicity; blessedness.
Excellence is the quality of excelling; possessing good qualities in high degree, something in which something or some one excels.
Godliness is careful observance of, or conformity to, the laws of God; the state or quality of being godly; piety.
